What exactly is germicidal ultraviolet light and what does it do?

UV light has been used in hospitals, food preparation, water treatment plants, nail salons, and many more places around the globe....all for the purpose of eliminating germs.
We figured out how to make UV technology small enough to use at home, and we designed great products around this amazing technology to keep you and your family healthier!
At a specific wavelength of 254nm UV light has a powerful effect on microorganisms, destroying them, rendering them harmless and prohibiting growth and reproduction.

Violife eliminates up to 99.9% of germs including strep, salmonella, e. coli, listeria, staph, pseudomonas, and even the H1N1 virus.

Back when Violife started, we went right to the pros. First up was the esteemed “Germ Doctor” Philip Tierno, Jr., PhD. He’s the Director of Clinical Microbiology and Immunology, Departments of Microbiology and Pathology at the New York University Medical Center. Dr. Tierno’s research found that Violife eliminated up to 99.9% of bacteria tested on toothbrushes. We were thrilled!

Soon after, we asked the NYU School of Dentistry to do a study with real life families.

The research team tested toothbrushes right out of bathrooms in and around the NY metropolitan area. Guess what!? The toothbrushes they collected and tested with Violife also showed up to 99.9% elimination of germs and bacteria. Boo-yah!
